Tucked along the southern shores of Lake Ontario sits majestic Lakewood Castle. With its sweeping terraces, sprawling acres and glorious sunsets, this property is a stunning backdrop for a fairytale wedding.

Imagine your first dance on the castle terrace, romantic photos in the Beauty & The Beast library, or bidding your guest farewell with a firework display over the lake. These kinds of fairy tale weddings exist, and there’s a private castle right here in WNY to host your dream wedding.

Born from the imagination of owner Christina Gentz, Lakewood Castle is a picturesque property reminiscent of a Hampton estate or a New England mansion. Christina oversaw development of the private residence, personally selecting every detail of her inspired vision until it became a reality.

“This place is indescribably special,” said Christina. “I can’t put into words how unique and rare it is, but as soon as guests visit us they fall in love with this venue. It’s such a joy for us to share in people’s life-starting moments.”

Lakewood Castle first opened to private events three years ago. Wedding ceremonies and receptions are held under elaborate tents just 20 feet from the shoreline for breathtaking views of Lake Ontario and some of the most memorable sunsets you’ll experience.

“Lakewood Castle is a wonderful new venue for weddings in WNY, the grounds are a beautiful backdrop for ceremonies and receptions,” said Steve Guagliardi, Director of Catering and Event Design, Rich’s Catering & Special Events. “On a clear day, you can see straight across Lake Ontario to Toronto. Quite simply, it’s picture perfect.”

The property is private and secluded, and reserved for your event alone for the entirety of your wedding weekend, beginning with your rehearsal event on Thursday or Friday night. Then, the bridal party is invited to stay in the castle’s guest suites on the eve of the wedding, which ensures a stress-free morning of pampering and preparations before the big moment.

“I work closely with each couple from start to finish to help them design and execute their dream event,” said Christina. “Every event is different, there are no packages here. We personalize every detail for each client, working with the caterer to source rental equipment such as tents, chairs, tables and décor.”

Lakewood Castle works with two exclusive caterers, each selected for their high standards of execution including professional service, first-class cuisine and attention to detail.

“We hosted 15 weddings this season and Rich’s was by far the best caterer we worked with all summer,” said Christina. “Every one of Rich’s associates executed as if it were their own personal business, working with such a sense of responsibility and pride in their work.”

Lakewood Castle is available for private events from June through September and can accommodate up to 225 guests. The 2019 wedding season is already fully booked, Christina is now taking reservations for the 2020 season. To learn more, visit LakewoodCastle.com.
