In advance of the big event, we caught up with the creators of the MYM Wedding Social, Rich’s Catering & Special Event’s leadership team of Will Kreiner, Executive Chef, and Steve Guagliardi, Director of Catering and Event Design. They gave us insight into what they see as the top trends for weddings in 2020.
On the Menu
“Couples choose Rich’s Catering because they know they’re not going to get a typical wedding meal,” said Will. “We have an extensive and eclectic menu that rarely needs to be customized because it offers something for everyone. For guests with dietary restrictions, we have a variety of delicious, tried and tested menu items that are free of top allergens.”
Rich’s is launching a new menu in 2020 that’s full of flavor and variety, leading with an appetizer menu with triple the offerings, emphasizing this important first impression.
“Appetizers are a great way to welcome guests and give them a taste of what’s to come,” said Steve. “Our new Artisan Cheese Display is just one of the many items we’ve elevated to offer couples something unique. Whether you want bold flavors or notes of nostalgia reflected in your appetizer menu, we have just what you’re looking for to kick-start the festivities.”
Leave a Lasting Impression
Another great way to welcome guests is with a signature cocktail. Rich’s has taken the liberty of concocting seasonal beverages so couples don’t need to stress over this detail. For the holiday season, Rich’s is serving the Sleigh RideTini, a delicious blend of Vanilla Vodka, Crème de Menthe and Irish Creme.
Rich’s hosted 800 guests from Northtown Automotive for a holiday celebration, giving the team an opportunity to trial an exciting new menu addition – branded beverages. Imagine your guests being greeted with a signature cocktail that has your engagement photo or monogram floating on top. The photos, logos or images are printed on edible sheets and float in the foam of hot or cold beverages. Picture an interactive coffee bar and a selfie station all in one. Now that’s a photo booth guests will remember!
Sweet and Savory Finale
“Dessert stations continue to be a popular choice at weddings and we’ve taken the donut idea to new heights by developing a Create-Your-Own-Donut Station where guests can frost and top their donuts,” said Will.
Rich’s also revamped the Late-Night Snack menu offering countless crave-busters including a French Fry Bar, and, for guests who have carried the party into the early morning hours, a Breakfast Sandwich Bar.
Tasty Takeaways
Still searching for a favor idea? Rich’s can help with that too. Edible favors are a delicious and thoughtful way to thank your guests. Breakfast breads, including banana nut and lemon cranberry, are top-sellers on Rich’s menu.
Décor Trends
A stunning tablescape is another way to elevate your event, but it doesn’t have to break your budget. Rich’s offers a variety of beautiful centerpiece rentals that are more cost-effective than fresh flowers and won’t be thrown out at the end of the night.
“Many couples are looking for unique ways to display table numbers so we’ve invested in several options to choose from, including etched acrylic and scripted wooden numbers,” said Steve. “We’ve also seen a resurgence in placemats, so we have a selection of those available in various shapes and colors to add another layer or design to your table decor.”
Location, Location, Location
Don’t settle for any venue, invite your guests to a space that speaks to you and your love story. Rich’s has catering contracts with this prestigious list of enviable venues: Shea’s Performing Arts, The Botanical Gardens, Darwin Martin House, The Barrel Factory, UB Center for the Arts, Buffalo Zoo, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Lakewood Castle, Akron Acres, and exclusive catering rights at Buffalo Museum of Science, Rapids Theatre and Explore and More.
