Whether it’s a few plus ones or the guests of honor, you should accommodate your vegetarian friends and family during every course. After deciding on the perfect vegetarian options for your wedding menu, ask your caterer to clearly label which options are meat-free.
Starters
Your cocktail hour cheese display and passed hors d’oeuvres can easily be modified to cater to not only vegetarian guests, but vegans as well. Include nuts and fruit jams with your cheese display. An assortment of vegetables with hummus is also a crowd-pleasing starter vegetarians can help themselves to. Offer options such as bruschetta, crostini and caprese kabobs within hors d’oeuvres.
When it comes time for your soup course, consider a vegetable-based option such as minestrone or tomato. Your salad will likely not require any modifications for vegetarians. Eliminate cheese and top with a vegan dressing for guests who don’t eat any animal products.
Entrées
The most obvious vegetarian entrée is pasta, which will also appeal to other guests. Whether you pick penne with marinara or pesto, vegetarian lasagna, gourmet ravioli or a creative gnocchi dish is up to you! Other meat-free options include:
- Risotto
- Pierogies
- Quiche
- Stir Fry
Desserts
Your dessert course probably won’t require any modifications for vegetarians. If you’ll be serving a large number of vegan wedding guests, vegan donuts, chocolate or cupcakes are simple (yet sweet) options.
Late Night
If you’re offering guests late night snacks, include vegetarian bites too. Serve soft pretzels with both beer cheese and a vegan mustard. Include veggie-topped pizzas in your buffet. Add meat-free fillers (like tofu, roasted cauliflower and fried avocado) to your taco bar.
