Décor is an essential part of your wedding’s overall theme or atmosphere. However, most décor elements will play a supporting role to the main attractions: the happy couple, beautiful venue, delicious dinner and stunning cake.

There are exceptions to this rule. A statement décor piece may be just what your venue needs. Statement décor comes in lots of varieties and can be used no matter what the ambiance of your ceremony or reception is.

Guide Guests to their Seats

Create a statement with a hand lettered, oversized seating chart. Design a wall that is both beautiful and functional to hold escort cards. Details like greenery, calligraphy and balloons combine to welcome guests into the reception area.

Let Your Statement Shine

Even simple metallic accents make a statement. Choose unique flatware for your place settings, line your aisle with lanterns or use mid-century modern high-backed chairs for dinner. Add unique lighting to your décor and metallics will stand out even more.

Light Up the Night

Lighting is a simple, inexpensive way to add a statement piece to your venue. What about string lights leading guests to a fire pit, candlelit tables, a chandelier over the dance floor, Edison bulbs accenting the dessert table or a custom neon sign during cocktail hour?

Add a Pop of Color

Accent an otherwise neutral color scheme with pops of a bright, seasonal color. Jewel tones are perfect for fall and winter. Spring and summer call for sunny yellows, tropical greens and bright blues.

Accent your Ceremony

While most décor efforts go to the cocktail hour and reception, your ceremony can play host to statement-making décor as well. A big, beautiful arch decorated with flowers, metallics or draped fabric over you and your partner draws your guests’ focus down the aisle and makes for gorgeous photos as you say “I do.”
